Information About Visas

You WILL require a pre-arranged visa to enter China. There are two options when you apply for a visa to China:

  1. The first and easiest option is to apply for a tourist or ‘L’ visa from the Chinese Embassy in your country. This is typically available for 30, 60 or 90 days and may be sufficient to cover the amount of time you wish to stay with us. If, after this time, you need to extend your visa, the school can help arrange this for you.

  2. For long-term students (6 months or more), we can help you with your application for a “student” or “X-type” visa. This is a lengthy and time-consuming process and it does impose a certain amount of responsibility upon the school as your official status within China will be registered as a student here. If you need help to obtain a student visa before you arrive, you are requested to forward a $300US deposit and confirm your request at least 3 months in advance of arrival. If, for any reason, you find you will no longer be able to attend the school, your deposit will be refunded (minus any costs incurred) and the visa will be cancelled.

For both visas a medical check-up is required. The cost of this is approx. 345RMB.

Perhaps the easiest course of action for long-term students is to arrive on an “L-type” (or Tourist) visa and then extend this to an “X-type” (or student) visa after arrival at the school. As an annexe of Ludong University we have no problems obtaining student visas for those who wish to study here. The cost of the visa is approx. 430RMB for 6 months and approx. 830RMB for 12 months although these numbers are subject to change.

In obtaining the medical certificate and visas our school does not make any profit from our students in any way.
