Comments about the fees
Having trained and another kung fu school in China i must say that Master Qu’s school is far superior. The teaching is superior, the food is superior and it is also more value for your money. Do not be fooled by schools with lower prices because even though it may cost less i can guarantee you will not get value for your money and you will experience lots of extra charges that are not stated on the websites.
Master Qu’s shool is worth every penny as you will not be charged an administration fee, you will not be charged for the internet, you will be proveded with free mineral water. You even get clean bedding every week i have already recommended Master Qu’s school to many people and i recomend the school to anyone who wishes to train in China. I will not train at any other school in China as i am very confident i will not recieve the same quality of teaching and also will not get as much value for my money.
If anyone has any questions regarding the school please do not hesitate to email me and ask me.

The Mantis taught here is of excellent quality, and the masters have a wonderful grasp of how to treat individual development, and they cater well for western needs; for instance the toilet and shower facilities are unlike those available elsewhere. As a beginner I have found the atmosphere calm and freindly, while condusive to learning. The hours of training are well stuctured to give a full day of exercise, but also provide time to relax.
The training facilities are equally impressive, and the grounds are large enough to house all of our needs, for training and leisure. The meals served are suited to our needs, are always large enough and very nice. There is little to complain about, and the fees are entirely justified when one considers how much is gained from the experience.
The first class teaching, individual rooms, excellent dining, and the atmosphere, each make the acadamy a worthy holiday and a great training location. Honestly, having heard about other acadamies in the region this is a perfect place, crucially with some of the best teachers available for a more than reasonable price.

If you’re reading this then presumably you already have at least the consideration of coming to this school consequently I’m writing this to give my experience of Qu Shifu’s school to help you reach a conclusion. I"ve had an amazing time here so far and in every regard this has been the best money I’ve spent on something in ages. Initially I was supprised by the fees supposing that they were excessive and yet having been here I can’t stress how important they are. I have been to cheaper schools than this one and they were not worth the money I saved. Here the fees go back on the students in order to create a much better training experience. Examples include:
- Great food! (Anyone who’s been to a training school before will know how important this is and how it’s usually ignored!) Master Li prepares a great selection of food and we even get things like porridge in the morning! So you can really tell they go out of their way for us.
- The enviroment is open and peaceful and the fees allow for a private training enviroment without distractions such as loads of other people and cars etc.
- Western Toilets! Again if you haven’t been to this part of the world you need to understand that cheaper places don’t bother and stick with the hole in the ground system.
- Internet in every room is great too as it helps to keep in touch with loved ones etc which is pretty important!
- Training equipment provided such as swords and spears. Cheaper academies i’ve been to don’t supply these and the cost is born on the individual.
- Snooker Room and Table Tennis rooms are also great spots to chill out and socialise, again not available at cheaper places.
There are loads more but I really won’t bore you with them! Ultimately what it comes down to is the quality of the teaching which is first rate. Qu Shifu as well as all the others are extremely capable and teach real combat techniques and forms which are tested every day in class. There’s no fancy mess here only good martial arts so if that’s what you’re looking for I’d definitely say this is the place for you.

Having experienced another kung fu school in China, I can honestly say this school is far superior value for money, there are no hidden charges here, here they do not charge extra for airport pick up fees, there are no hidden administration fees when you arrive, here i have a free internet connection in my room and students without a computer can use the schools computers for free, here all training equiptment is provided by the school, mineral water is provided by the school, the food is of amazing quality and most importantly, the quality of the Masters teachings make this school the best value you will find. If you are considering going to a kung fu school in China, remember, you get what you pay for.

I’ll make this short and sweet. If you are looking to learn traditional kung fu in China this is the place. The masters are great, highly skilled and excellent teachers. There’s also:
- Excellent food – I’m talking restauarant quality. Seriously!
- Awesome training environment – the schools is so quiet and natural, you feel like you’re at home. I haven’t been so chilled out for ages! Add that to the beautiful and picturesque surroundings – this place is hard to beat!
- Great atmosphere – there’s a friendly and chilled atmosphere in the place. This largely down to Qu Shifu – the owner – who is a great guy – friendly, extremely honest and trustworthy.
- And if you’re bored there’s free internet, basketball, table tennis, pool and badminton.
Combine that with the excellent training facilties (all provided free of charge) and you have a great school which is great value for money. I’ve been to other schools in China and there’s loads of hidden costs and if I’m honest a lot of them are a rip-off.
All the best with your kung fu and maybe I’ll see you soon.
